For EOL members who would like to have their own photo journals, galleries or blogs, please read the following information:

The links found on the External Links of Interest are all FREE for users to set up. There are very few requirements. If anyone needs help setting up one of these accounts, or how to design, open or set up their journal, blog, etc, please let us know in here. It will NEVER be necessary for anyone to give out any type of personal information in order for us to help you. Your questions can be answered right in this area, including pictoral walk throughs if needed.

The links found on the EOL Members Photo Galleries page are links that go to external photo sites for members and staff of EOL to browse through. If you have a gallery, and are not sure as to how to place it on this page, please let us know and we will set up the link for you. You can post the link in this thread, or send it to us via Private Message (PM).

The members wishes for search functions can be found on the Search Functions page of the Wiki. Please let us know if you need help adding requests to this page, or, you can list them here. We're slowly able to go through all the posts and pick out the ones that are most requested, so that they can be placed first. However, if we have not yet listed your request, please be sure to bring it to our attention so we can place it up on this page

For those of you who would like to add your external data links to the Wiki, a page has been set up for that purpose. Please add your links to the following EOL Wiki page: http://eol-comments.pbwiki.com/External-Data-Links

But if we have a bunch of gallery links to sites other than EOL than it is to me disorganized. Why can't EOL create a photo database of itself?

It's a complicated and difficult process to incorporate photos from everyone into the website. They're working on it, apparently, and it won't be ready for uploads until June or so. However, how that will actually work remains to be seen. I can't imagine that wholesale uploads will be the methodology because of the possibility of "vandalism". But then again perhaps that's what they'll do with moderators going through them as time permits. We'll have to wait and see.

Images should be preapproved before making it onto a species page at all unless we choose to have authenticated and unauthenticated pages where changes are monitored. That could work.
